Guided Group Rides (at Milford Bike Festival)
June 2 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Huron Valley Mountain bike club is hosting 3 group rides (all starting at 10 am and finishing around noon) at the Milford Bike Festival. Free admission for MiSCA students (ages 15 and under) with adult registration to the Bike Festival / Trail Challenge. We’re looking for MiSCA Coaches who are willing to volunteer to help ride with the teams in a leadership or supporting role.
Ride 1: 10-12 miles
The lowest skill level open to most all mountain bikers would be to leave from downtown and ride the first section of the Milford Trail to the first bike path crossing. From there we would take the bike path to another section of the Milford Trail that is about the last 1/2 mile before the damn bike path crossing (we call it entering at the boulders). At the dam crossing, we would jump on the bike path again and head to Bakers/Holdens. Depending on the group desires/time we would do some of the Proud Lake Connector Trail before heading back to Milford on the bike path.
Ride 2: 15-18 miles
Middle school level ride would start from downtown and ride the Milford Trail to the dam crossing. Take the bike path to the proud lake connector and ride that down and back. Take the bike path back to the Milford trail at the damn and finish the Milford trail.
Ride 3: 20-25 miles
High school level ride would start from downtown and ride the Milford Trail to the dam crossing. Take the bike path to the proud lake connector. Ride a couple of loops in Proud Lake before taking the connector back to the bike path. Ride the bike path back to the Milford trail at the damn and finish the Milford trail.
