Registration opens March 1st – MiSCAbike.org/register
($75)

This course is required for all adults who will be riding with students in a Leadership Role (Ride Leader) and Level 2 Coaches. Each practice must have a Level 2 Coach present.

Learn how to effectively teach and manage the students in your program with this one-day coach training. This course offers hands-on training for leading rides and managing group situations on an open trail system with the emphasis on leading youth rides. Course topics include risk management, group management, trail etiquette, safety and emergency preparedness. Curriculum includes breaking down basic bike skills and teaching them to others, drills, bike games and tips for working with kids.

The courses will be taught by Melissa Werkman, MMBA Executive Director, MiSCA Board Member, and IMBA Level 1 Certified Coach. Certifications offered by other organizations such as IMBA, NICA, or PMBI will fulfill this requirement.

Prerequisite: It is recommended (not required) that you complete all other coaching requirements before attending the in-person training. Visit MiSCAbike.org/coach for more details on Coach Certification.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
